Best of the best! August 16, 2010 Rostyslav This was my second Technics headphones. I bought them 2 years ago, but they also look like new. Gold plated connectors providing awesome sound quality! Isolation is awesome. I like this headphones very much!
anatomy not always best friend of good equipment August 12, 2010 onotole (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) if I say that the sound quality, the isolation and almost everything in those earphones are good - it wouldn't be enough. They are almost perfect. But somehow my ears cannot bear them for more then 1 hour - then the left one would start aching. probably, the anatomy of my ear is not as perfect as those earphones. What I would like to say is that it is better to try them on before you buy a pro headphones, which is impossible with online purchase. But Amazon is the best way to find a correct price for such an item - retail stores bill much more...
Not just a great "DJ" headphone--GREAT sound period January 5, 2010 Long-Time Listener (Wichita, KS) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
First of all, let me mention there is a difference between the "RP-DJ1200" model, the "1200a" model, and the "RP-DJ1210" model, which is available from Amazon UK, but not here. I've heard them all (owned them all, in fact), and all sound good, but here I would like to recommend the "RP-DJ1210" model as the best of the bunch. It is simply a GREAT headphone. I've also owned the Sennheiser 600 and 650 models, the Denon AH-D1001, and headphones by Audiotechnica and other well-known brands. I listen most often to these Technics--yes, you heard it right, the Technics. They simply have the best combination of NATURAL, OPEN, DETAILED, BALANCED, and NON-FATIGUING sound I've ever heard. Period. Their overall sonic signature is very similar to the Denon AH-D1001, and with a larger ear-cup, the Denon is arguably more "open" sounding, with excellent bass and midrange sound. But in the treble the Denon clouds up and loses its transparency, whereas the Technics has enough transparency to allow you to hear the hall sound (the ambient echo of the performance hall) in classical recordings, and details such as reverb trails on electronic music (the Denon just doesn't, which means I own it but don't listen to it). I don't care about the differences between over-the-ear, on the ear, or ear canal headphones--all I care about is balanced, detailed sound. It's true, the Sennheisers, in certain parts of their range, can sound better, but they also have a certain dryness or harshness in the low treble that makes them hard to listen to for long. The Technics I can listen to--and do--for hours and hours at a time. Get these.
Great sounding Cans November 20, 2009 K. Robinson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These headphones are top quality, at first I brought the DH-1200 headphones by Techniques, they are ok, but lack sound quality. So I invested in a pair of RP-DJ1200A which are a better sounding headphones. They even sound good at low volumes which the DH-1200 did not. Awsome sounding headphones and I love the swing arm action on these headphones.
great product November 4, 2009 shawkster The sound of these are great and the price is very good for the quality you're getting.
I just received them and they seem durable, let's see how this will be in the next few months.
my only comment is about the size of the headphones. They are slightly small and feel a bit strange when you first put them on. The isolation however, is really good and I would recommend these headphones for mixing use.
