Amazon.com Product Description The Koss SportaPro portable headphones offer portability, flexibility, and a headband designed to be worn either atop or behind the head. Equally well suited for use at work or on a jogging trail, the SportaPro's open, foam-covered ear cups allow for ambient environmental sounds to be heard, which can be helpful in a recreational environment. The SportaPro's weight is a mere 2.2 ounces, and the headphones boast a frequency response of 15 to 25,000 Hz, delivering (on paper, at least) quite a bit more bass than most home speakers can. Impedance is 60 ohms, with less than a 0.2 percent distortion and sensitivity of 103 dB SPL (with a 1 mW signal). The SportaPro stereophones are collapsible and come with a carrying case, as well as both 0.125-inch and 0.25-inch jacks. Koss covers the headphones with a lifetime warranty.

Great Value July 20, 2010 S. J. Northrip (Bedford TX) We researched many head phones and decided on either Bose or Koss SportaPro Stereo Headphones. While shopping on ebay we found a pair of Bose at a reasonable price. We purchased them, but even though we paid immediately, the seller chose not to ship the product. We did recover our money, but in the meantime thought we would give the SportaPro a try. I never did get to compare the Bose with the PortaPro, but these head phones give an awesome sound. Not being an audiophile I simply enjoy a great sound. They work well with a Lenova laptop without a sophisticated sound card, and the sound is much better than my Sony Rack system.
When I use these headphones, the sound is very strong and all bass and treble notes are both clear and well balanced. Recommend these and the comparative price makes a good value. You don't really need to spend $200 when you can get a high quality unit like the Koss. Am buying some more of these for some Grand Kids.
Comfortable and Sound Fine May 29, 2010 William J. Lahey (Richmond VA) I use these with my MP3 player to listen mostly to audio books and podcasts. They stay on and are comfortable with a good length for the cord. Time will tell if they become my favorite headsets.
Never tried before but great result April 28, 2010 Ricky H (USA) Never used this product before. Introduced by a relative and very pleased with the result. The sound was awesome.
Excellent sound at a low price March 5, 2010 Herb S. If you are looking for an inexpensive set of headphones that have really great sound quality, look no further. The Koss SportaPro or the very similar PortaPro are what you are looking for. There is nothing else that I am aware of at this price that comes even close in sound quality. These headphones perform comparably to other headphones costing 2 or 3 times as much. The sound is well-balanced, with a strong (but not overpowering) bass and pleasing mid-range and highs. The padded earpieces are comfortable and stay firmly in place once you get them on and adjusted.
I am not an audiophile, so my criterion for evaluating headphones is simple: When I put them on and press the play button, do I quickly become immersed in the music and forget about the headphones, or do I find myself getting annoyed with imperfections in the headphones that get in the way of my enjoyment of the music? The Koss SportaPro passes this test with flying colors.
The downside is that the headphones look and feel kind of cheap and dorky. If you want your headphones to make a fashion statement, don't get these. But if, like me, you are in it for the sound, you can hardly go wrong.
You cannot be serious about these good reviews... March 4, 2010 Miss Fatty 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought these based on all the good reviews here. I am a pretty serious runner and gym rat. I had been a loyal fan of my nice cheap Phillips headphones and was super disappointed when not one, but two pairs of replacements turned out to be defective (they had what sounded like little bits of plastic shaking around in the earpieces). So I got these and really cannot understand how anyone could recommend them. They were double the price of the Phillips with about half the quality. The sound is terrible, fuzzy--maybe okay for music but if you want to listen to podcasts or audiobooks the sound is muffled and you really need to up the volume to an uncomfortable level in order to hear all the words. They dont really fit well around your neck--constantly drooping--and as others here attest, they look ridiculous. The worst thing about them however, in my opinion, are the little bits of thick foam above the earpieces as well as the foamy earpieces themselves--they basically absorb sweat and after 3 or 4 six or seven mile runs they smell like the bathroom at the Port Authority bus station. Gross. The Phillips headphones are also foamy-- maybe they've got some kind of anti-bacterial coating or maybe the foam isnt as thick and they dry better--but they have never gotten this funky, even after a year of use. I finally got a good pair of Phillips and have tossed the Koss. They are awful.
