I do not recommend them at all July 11, 2010 Kimberly A. Humphrey The headphones are too large and unwieldy--uncomfortable.. You cannot be in any position but sitting straight up with your head perfectly straight forward. You must sit in a low-backed chair. If you move at all, they are displaced from your ears and you cannot hear, plus you risk inadvertently adjusting the volume. Button-type earphones would be much better, or at least make these smaller. This purchase was a mistake.
Perfect for my purpose July 10, 2010 45ACEEPEE (Arizona) I was looking for wireless headphones for watching late night t.v. while my wife slept. The RF-WHP01 fill the bill just fine. I took a chance and purchased them used from Niagara Electronics through Amazon and am not a bit sorry about that decision. I ordered on 7-5 and they arrived on 7-9, N.Y. to Az that is exceptional! They look unused and work as advertised, however the rechargeable batteries weren't included. That's no big deal for me as I have many rechargeable batteries. I can see the points others make about the comfort issues, the headstrap feels somewhat tight but not too much of a problem when laying in bed. May be more of a problem if you're walking around with them on. The ear pads are on the small side and I have to work my earlobes into the cups, but doesn't seem to be uncomfortable for me. The sound is clear, volume good, and totally silent from any hiss or noise. You can still hear ambient sound and outside human voice is clearly heard with headphones on. All-in-all I don't think you can beat these for the price. Buy a pair and enjoy.
Admirable, with one flaw July 7, 2010 R. SELIG (New York, NY USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is an up-to-date 2.4 gigacycle wireless headphone with very good sound, adequate range for most purposes and a headset that is comfortable yet stays securely in place through the full range of normal movement. It is superior in ergonomics to my old, 900 megacycle Acoustic Research headphones.
However, those AR headphones were tuneable and these are not, having a fixed frequency. This means that each receiving headset is mated to the base unit (transmitter) it came with and will work with no other. This avoids interference and frequency "drift" BUT for each additional headset in use, there must be an additional base unit, making wiring more complicated. [The Acoustic Research headset is more flexible, will receive a signal from any AR 900 mc base unit.]
Pleasing to my ears AND wallet May 20, 2010 Electronic Shinobi (Charleston, SC) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is my first time buying a not new item (not including games or cars), so I was a little worried. No more though, because these bad boys work GREAT!! As if new, and it came looking brand new (even with those sticky plastic things that come on brand new stuff that most ppl wait to take off, haha). Anyways here's my review:
GOOD:
-SOUND quality is GREAT!! I didn't even know there was two types of headsets like these, and the one I got is the latest one WHP02. The differences are that on the WHP02 you can control volume on the actually earphones, and it has an additional option for surround sound and clear voice. I'm not sure how the WHP01 sounds, but mine sound INCREDIBLE!!! Literally sound sound on my ears, I love it.
-SET UP is VERY EASY. Instructions are only a few pages long, b/c that's all you need. You just plug it in and there ya go!!
-CONNECTION is stable and I never hear static or fading. I even walked to the kitchen from my bedroom (not toooo far, but still) and nothing changed. I could hear everything clear as day.
-PRICE that you just can't beat!! I looked for HOURS for good headphones at a decent price. I didn't want to spend $75 - $150 on headphones. I can't believe I got these for this much!! But I'm glad I did. They may not have been brand spanking new, but I can't tell the difference. No scuffs, scratches, and the quality of the product is outstanding (ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE, WOW!!).
BAD:
-SOUND quality is incredible, but not perfect. I watched Batman: The Dark Knight and everything sounded EXCELLENT until it came to the fighting scenes. Whenever he hit a guy or something the punches sounded muffled. Other than that everything was better than expected. I can get over it.
-COMFORT is a little weird. If you have big ears, definitely stay away. These barely fit over my ears (luckily, so i don't have to return them). It fits on mine and my girlfriends head pretty good, but the ears can be a downfall.
I got these b/c I work the night shift, and on my days off I stay up and watch movies and play games. I hated if my girlfriend would wake up by accident or something b/c of me so I looked for some wireless headphones. These bad boys get the job done!! The room is silent, and yet I feel like I'm in a movie theater!! We're both loving it, and I highly recommend this product. For the price YOU CAN'T BEAT IT!!!
Very Nice Headphones=A new fan of Rocketfish May 14, 2010 kzolady (Kalamazoo, Mi) I just got these headphones today. So far I am very pleased with them. I had minor trouble setting them up, because the power needs to be off before attaching them to the TV. I called the Rocketfish support and found out that you have to hold the off button down for about 4 seconds to shut off the power. They were very helpful.
These headphones are pretty comfortable, maybe a little big. The sound quality is very good, even if the volume is a little low. I will not need to worry about damaging my hearing with too loud volume.
I have not used the charger on the docking station, because from what the tech person said, it takes about 16 hours to charge the batteries. I think she could be wrong about that. I have some Duracell pre-charged batteries and a charger that changes in an hour or less. I had no trouble connecting the headphones to the charger in the docking station though. I'm just not that patient.
I was looking at more expensive headphones when I ran across these reviews. You reviewers are really great. I got mine at auction for only $16.43 delivered. I paid more for my el cheepo wired headphones. I just wish the Rocketfish ppl made a product exactly like this except with a mic for Skype.
Oh, I forgot to mention, I wore these outside with no loss of sound or sound quality.
Update:
I found the volume control on the headphones. It is on the opposite earphone as the connect/on/off phone. If you look on the outside there is a + and a - pushing the plus increases the volume. and vice-versa. Now I get plenty of volume. Cool. I don't understand why they don't make this more prominent in the product manual. It is a very good system for volume control. It is much easier that a dial when you have the headset on all you do is push the top or bottom. They should brag about this.
