Charge light July 19, 2010 George Just purchased the MDR-RF925RK and am very pleased with the performance.
But- the manual says the red charging light on the base should go off when the battery is fully charged.
I left the headset on the charge base for 36 hours and the light never went off. I checked the voltage on the battery and they were fully charged - but the charge light never turned off.
I used the headphones until the battery was almost depleted, placed it on charge overnight- and after another 16 hours charge the red light will not turn off.
Don't bother July 6, 2010 Alan Hughes (Vancouver, British Columbia Canada) No idea how this product gets good reviews. All the secondary attributes are great: convenient charging cradle, reversible cable, reasonably light, decent sound quality (when you can hear it).
But I bought these to use at work, and the interference made them absolutely unusable. From a mild ever-present hissing sound, to regular, loud, annoying feedback, the interference was, in no uncertain terms, brutal. We have one rarely-used wireless access point at work, and when I tested them at home they weren't much better. For the first time ever, I returned a product because it plain didn't work.
Comfortable headphones with long battery life July 4, 2010 The Enlightened (NJ, USA) I've had these headphones for a few years, and they're great. I use them when listening to radio shows on my PC. They allow me to walk around the house and do other work, while still having the show on. The main plus of the headphones is comfort and battery life. The headband is cushioned, and cups are big and made out of cloth, so I can wear these for hours at a time. Battery also lasts forever (at least 5 hours), and it's easy to recharge it, since you just place the headset back onto its base - there's nothing to connect or plug in. The only negative thing I have to say about these is that if you get too far away from the antenna you start hearing a bit of intermittent noise here and there, but it has not been an issue for my use.
Earphonic June 29, 2010 grandpa So far, so good. Easy to set up, very good sound. If you're hard of hearing, as I am, this is the produce for you. O, by the way, it's well worth the little money it costs.
Not so hot June 22, 2010 Fat Monkey Smile I have some old Sony wired headphones that were expensive, but very nice. I wanted the advantages of wireless, so bought these and have been very disappointed with the quality. As other reviewers mentioned, the general static and popping noises are unacceptable. The white noise static sound increases quite a bit as you turn up the volume and the popping is a regular 'click-click' every 3 seconds or so, that also increases with volume. Certain locations/positions will make the popping better or worse. Also, any movement sometimes causes a swishing sound. Music is not as bad to listen to since it tends to mask these problems, but listening to something like a podcast is terrible.
The other complaint I have with them is that the charging is based on time (that starts when the headphones are placed in the cradle, I believe) not battery life. Does this mean if I charge them fully, then listen to them for just 5 minutes, I should not put them back? Will it do another full charge? This may be normal for wireless headphones, but the manual was confusing, stating "Charging is controlled by the timer and always continues for approximately 16 hours, regardless of the remaining battery power, but this is not a malfunction."
