| Customer Reviews: Excellent Headphones for TV Listening July 21, 2008 G. P. Rodriguez 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I connected the headphones to my new Yamaha amplifier & to
my new 46" Sharp LCD TV and got wonderfull surround sound.
I find them a lot lighter than the DP-IF5000 Sony Infrared Headphones (which I've enjoyed for many years), the only negative feature I found was the recharging station. I found that with a little practice, I can fit them in the right spot within a 10sec. span. I advise anyone who buys this product to keep a couple of AAA batteries handy if they are in a hurry. Another thing, you might have some distortion if used to watch a Plasma TV, but I didn't perceive any with the LCD TV. Overall, an excellent product for my purpose (watching late night tv w/surround sound without waking up my spouse).
Great Sound, Comfortable, Quality made January 7, 2008 J. Muschiano 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this item based on other users comments and opinions. I have to say I'm very pleased with this product, totally worth the price tag. Infared technology out performs omni radio anytime. Awesome 5.1 channel support-having these on at night is a great use when the wife and kid is in bed and I dont want to wake the neighbors. Even having it just about behind the Tv I have great range, more than i expected being Infared. Very comfortable, no stress on my head/ears, one size does fit all. Setup with the use of optical audio and plugging into my audio video switch and receiver was a snap.
Only complaint I could note is that docking the headphones to charge can be a little tedious because you have to perfectly line up the headphones in the cupped holders for the connecters to meet to charge, I catch myself alot of times swaying the headphones back and forth till the charge light pops up to state the charge is in progress.
Overall highly recommended and keeps my continued trust in Sony products
good headphones but power hungry November 26, 2005 AZ-Gamer (usa) 8 out of 14 found this review helpful
Going from a Sony MDR-IF240RK headphones to the ds4000 is a big jump in quality and comfort.
over the years I owned over 10 pairs of cordless headphones, mainly IF240 type, which seem to do great on power consumption, but not as good with sound quality and comfort.
With the IF240 I had to put new battery every 2-3 months or so.
The DS4000 require new battery every 2 weeks or so.
The reason I can not use the charger is because I am using more than one pair, so when put on the charger the second pair does not receive any signal.
Sony Cordless Digital Headphone September 8, 2005 mingel 18 out of 20 found this review helpful
This is the best set of cordless headphones that I have bought. I've owned 3 others. Finally the hiss is gone. Overall the sound is excellent, but the bass response could be a little better. I find the Auto On when you put them on to be very cool. I minor issue is that these are "line of sight" headsets, meaning that you have to stay in direct sight of the transmitter. Other cordless headsets that have owned allowed me walk around the house and still hear the program, this comes in handy when you need to go the somewhere else in the house but don't want to loose any of the dialogue. However this is a small tradeoff when you factor in the good sound and the hiss free trasmission of these Sony headsets.
Great for hard of hearing August 17, 2005 C. Raeder (Michigan, USA) 21 out of 27 found this review helpful
I purchased these headphones for my 84 year old mother living in an assisted living apartment. She uses them with a large screen tv. She is extremely hard of hearing and could not hear or understand her old tv. After a lot of study I decided to pay the big bucks and hope she would use them. If not, I would have a great pair of wireless headphones for myself.
She loves them, I'm without headphones... The digital input makes for incredibly clear sound. The design makes them comfortable for her too. I was worried she would have trouble placing on the stand properly to recharge them, but she learned faster than I did. She is legally blind, so that goes to show how easy it is when you start doing it. The other nice feature was the auto on/off when you put them on or take them off. Preserves battery strength.
When I decide to spend the money for a great headset, these are the one's I will get.
